Gin Fuse 4 (EN B, Tandem)

$4,650.00

THE PERFECT PRO TOOL

The Fuse 4 is our latest tandem paraglider for professionals, offering maximum efficiency and reliability whilst also being fun to fly.

The Fuse 4 marks a step forward from its illustrious predecessor. As a result of feedback from many tandem pilots around the world, we were able to make the Fuse 3 even better:

  • increased top speed
  • upgraded trim riser
  • exclusive new fabric developed by GIN and Myungjin offers outstanding performance characteristics and durability
  • even easier inflation and improved handling

The legacy continues

The Fuse 4 improves further on the characteristics that professionals have come to know and love about the Fuse 3. Top speed has been increased, the handling is even lighter and the take-off is even easier. The wing has excellent energy retention and useful performance in climbing and gliding.

Increased top speed

The Fuse 4 has a 3km/h higher top speed than the Fuse 3, giving you useful extra speed in situations such as penetrating valley winds or coastal flying.

Upgraded trim riser

The new trim webbing material is 20% stronger giving you extended service. There is a new, easier system to replace the trim webbing if it does eventually wear out.

Considered choice of fabrics

A working tool like the Fuse needs to stand up to long hours of service, whilst still offering a pleasant flying experience for both pilot and passenger. In partnership with local Korean fabric manufacturer Myungjin, GIN has introduced on the lower surface a new 29g PU-based composite quattro-coated fabric, and has further refined the Myungjin 40g and 32g used in the Fuse 3. We believe these fabrics represent the pinnacle of paraglider fabric development, offering durability whilst giving the wing excellent flying characteristics in areas such as inflation, take-off and handling. For the rib material, we opted for Porcher Skytex 40 hard finish due to its performance in this specific application.

New plastic rods

We are constantly improving the characteristics of the plastic rods, and the new formulation we are using in the Fuse 4 offers greater stiffness which helps keep the leading edge shape. The result is better take-off, handling and in-flight feeling.

Improved take-off, better handling

The material choices have a direct influence on flying characteristics. The lighter fabric and stiffer rods help the wing come up faster, for example in take-offs with a light tailwind. And the brake pressures are also reduced, particularly noticeable when the wing is flown at the top end of its weight range.

Innovative big ears system

The Fuse 4 retains our unique big ear system. This makes it much easier and faster to pull and release the big ears. Besides, the pilot can still use the brakes to steer the glider, useful, for example, to control the glide ratio on top landings. We also added a bridle cover to the standard spreader bars for a neater finish.

Full coverage of weight ranges

The wide weight range and number of sizes offers versatility for pilots and passengers of all weights. The size #44 can also expand your window of operation, especially with heavier passengers in light conditions or on difficult take-offs. The smaller size can also be flown solo or with children.

DESIGNER NOTES

Designer Gin Seok Song explains the philosophy behind the Fuse 4:

“As a result of the ongoing success of the Fuse 3, we were able to gather a large amount of feedback from tandem professionals around the world in places.

Most of the focus for the Fuse 4 has been on the materials as these are important for both durability and flying characteristics.

The Fuse 4 features another new fabric developed by GIN with Myungjin, the 29g fabric used on the lower surface. It offers an extraordinary weight-to-durability ratio and we have tested this fabric both in the lab and all over the world in different conditions. The improved characteristics are a result of a unique PU- based composite coating and of course, the reduced weight has benefits when it comes to take-off and handling in the air.

For the rib material, we believe the Porcher 40g hard finish is the best fabric for the job, helping to retain the original performance of the airfoil over longer periods of heavy use. In addition, we have further improved the plastic rod material which helps handling, performance and durability.

We also increased the top speed, which helps a lot in stronger winds. And we found a stronger material for the trim webbing, which will give a much longer period before replacement.”
